Abstract Acid sulphate soil and sulphide-bearing sediments cause various challenges in construction projects land use planning, as well harmful environmental effects. Fine-grained sulphide were mainly formed coastal areas during the Litorina Sea water phase at approximately 7000 BP capital region of Finland, but not all these contain clay. In this study, material property variables related to depositional conditions clay selected for statistical analyses find their association with occurrence sulphide. The datasets consisted investigations by City Espoo, Helsinki, Geological Survey Finland. Statistically significant associations found study area between enumerative (i.e., sediment organic content, total depth, topographic class phase, depth) phase.
